Advancing treaty and Indigenous awareness in Canada.
The Moccasin Identifier Project is an Indigenous Canadian organization dedicated to advancing awareness of treaties and Indigenous Canadian presence, through the symbol of the moccasin as a deeply meaningful connection between the people and the land.
They run hundreds of educational workshops every year that feature their moccasin stencil kit, allowing participants to paint the ground or wall with the moccasin design from one of four Indigenous Groups.
We partnered with them to widen reach and capture the imagination of audiences wherever they are, by translating their core product into a fun interactive AR stencil painting experience.
Introducing the Moccasin Identifier AR Stencil
The Moccasin Identifier AR Stencil allows users to choose between four moccasin stencils, and then cover it in paint to their heart’s content. Once done, they were able to pinch, zoom, and place the stencil anywhere around them, ground or floor, and share the image capture to friends and social media.
Educational content on each Group, their moccasin design’s details and significance, and the project as a whole rounded out the experience.
