Overview
This project brought the classic game "Street Fighter II" from CAPCOM back to life through webAR. Users read the labels on plastic bottle as markers to activate the AR and control the character of their choice, then can play an original game inspired by the bonus stage in the original game.
Detail
The characters are controlled with a UI that looks close to the original game, including the four-way controller, punch button and kick button. There were some nostalgic special moves, such as the key input "Hadouken" everyone is familiar with that was reproduced by webAR.
The character data was supplied by CAPCOM officially. The character operations, key-input programme, furthermore, the integrated processing of key responses for making "the original movements" that the key inputs had been combined on the programming, the setting of positional coordinates in the game, the collision detection when attacks on the iceberg, the number of damage and the score had been reflecting the data by the precise calculation of numbers and scores in this performance of this game. As a result of the development efforts above made for this webAR, many users enjoyed this game, and the campaign was very successful.
