Moooi creates immersive AR portals for A Life Extraordinary campaign
Moooi blurred the lines between the physical and digital worlds for its A Life Extraordinary campaign with 8th Wall’s immersive Web-Based AR ‘Portals.’
Moooi, a Dutch furniture, interior, and lighting modern design company, made a splash with a unique augmented reality (AR) experience at Salone del Mobile in Milan as part of its A Life Extraordinary campaign. Using 8th Wall’s WebAR technology, Moooi blurred the lines between the physical and digital worlds by transforming four interior moods into immersive ‘Portals.’
After entering Moooi's exhibit through an O-shaped Portal, visitors were greeted with four vibrant interior moods, each evoking different emotions. By scanning a QR code with a mobile phone, visitors immediately launched interactive scenes on moooi.com that showcased all products in each interior setting. Visitors seamlessly explored furniture and lighting pieces, wallcoverings, and carpets by tapping each item.
The experience was re-created digitally on Moooi.com to bring lovers of interior design, lifestyle, and technology outside of Milan together. The results included over 14,000 Portal launches in one month, with users spending up to 2 minutes and 20 seconds immersed in the Web-Based AR experience.
A Life Extraordinary showcased four moods: Divine Dreams, Defy Gravity, Paper Play, and Beauty Blooms, and also included four Instagram filters and Spotify Playlists to round out the multi-sensory exhibition. Moooi collaborated with Build in Amsterdam for this campaign which won a bronze Lovie Awards in the category Web3 & XR - XR Experience - Business, Fashion & Retail.
