Just in time for the holidays, we are pleased to announce Summit Scramble, an augmented reality game you can play together with friends and family on smartphones, computers and virtual reality devices.

Summit Scramble is the world’s first immersive, entirely cross-platform web game. Built using the all-new 8th Wall Engine featuring Metaversal Deployment, Summit Scramble is a free web game that can be played as AR on iOS and Android smartphones and Microsoft HoloLens, in 3D on desktop and laptop computers and in VR on the Meta Quest. 

Set on top of a snowy mountain, the  online game challenges players to sprint up and down a 3D mountain to collect as much gold as you possibly can. Players can customize their avatar using Ready Player Me including selecting one of three custom 8th Wall branded outfits made specifically for the game. Racing against the clock, players will need to overcome treacherous obstacles along the way such as rolling boulders and lava before the mountain transforms into an erupting volcano. After completing the game, players can stake their claim as champion of Summit Scramble on the global leaderboard by submitting their avatar and final score along with sharing their score on their social networks.

Developed by WebAR agency Aircards, Summit Scramble is the first AR experience to make use of 8th Wall’s Metaversal Deployment, which allows developers to build a web-based augmented reality project once and deploy it across a variety of devices. This new capability unlocks even more places to access and engage with immersive content, significantly expanding this reach without expanding the development time. 

Now available online for users around the world to play, Summit Scramble can be played in single player or multiplayer mode. In multiplayer mode, players can challenge their friends in real-time from anywhere and on any device. As an added bonus, starting today Summit Scramble players will have the chance to win a Meta Quest 2 by entering the 8th Wall Summit Scramble Social Sweepstakes.
