Step into a digital tribute to the Monument Rozenoord, honoring stories of resistance and lives behind the empty chairs.
The interactive experience is inspired by the original Monument Rozenoord in Amsterdam, a powerful memorial designed by Dutch artist and sculptor Ram Katzir. The monument honors 140 resistance fighters executed in the final months of World War II.
At the memorial, Katzir arranged empty chairs in a disorganized pattern, symbolizing lives abruptly interrupted. Visitors are invited to sit among the absent, amplifying the sense of loss and reflection.
This interactive experience brings the powerful symbolism of the monument to life in a digital space, inviting players to connect emotionally with the stories of loss and resilience it represents.
Players can explore the space, uncover the powerful stories of those who resisted oppression, and pay tribute to their courage by leaving a flower.
The full experience features a voice-over inspired by a witness’s account of the tragic events, offering a deeply personal perspective. The atmosphere is further enhanced by original background music composed independently and integrated into the project.
