Queen Mothers celebrates West Hollywood’s vibrant queer nightlife and the radiant figures who shaped it. The faceted trio embodies the spirit of drag, performance, and chosen family—timeless icons of resilience, joy, and self-expression. Their bold, geometric forms reflect the energy of WeHo’s clubs, bars, and community spaces, where identity and artistry converge.
An interactive AR layer—accessible via 8thWall—brings this legacy into motion. Floating pink triangles reflect fragments of the figures, symbolizing how queer history is carried and refracted through the community. Mirror butterflies—emblems of transformation—emerge from the mural and can be tapped, moved, and scaled by viewers. These interactive elements invite reflection, celebration, and play—extending the mural’s story into a shared, evolving space.
