As the company to invent the three-point seat belt, Volvo has built a longstanding reputation as a leader in vehicle safety. To help highlight the safety features built into their vehicles, Volvo partnered with Grey and Subvrsive to create an in-dealership Web AR experience.
Implemented in Volvo dealerships nationwide, the activation invited car shoppers to scan a QR code near select display vehicles to launch the Web AR app on their phones. Then, users could scan five decals affixed to various spots on the vehicles to ignite AR visualizations of safety features like auto brakes, active bending lights, pedestrian detection, and more.
